On Friday, March 26th, the Department of Social Services in California certified the relinquishment that was signed by Quinn's birthmother. It is now official record that Quinn is our daughter.
Her birthmother cannot legally rescind the adoption and we cannot give her back for refusing to sleep in her crib.
During the first week of August (if the court system isn't backed up from all of the furloughs and budget cuts), we'll go to the court of Alameda County and a judge will sign the paper that finalizes the adoption. We will then take a picture with the judge, legally change her name (right now Quinn is merely an alias), and celebrate the finality of the adoption.
We're so grateful that everything has gone so smoothly with Quinn's adoption despite hangups with the insurance company. Cheers to Quinn legally joining the Kelly/Morrison family!

Congratulations! Especially to "Quinn" (is that how we should write it until it's legally her name?)
